A flight that left New Zealand's Auckland to Honolulu, Hawaii, took off in 2018 but due to a delay it ended up landing last year, 2017.
Sam Sweeney spotted the paradoxical event and posted it to his Twitter account. "Due to an unexpected delay, Hawaiian Airlines flight 446 took off in 2018 and will land in 2017," he wrote in his post, which he supplemented with the hashtag #timetravel [p. time travel].
Naturally, nothing is metaphysical in all this, since it is simply responsible for the difference in time.
Hawaiian Airlines flight # HA446 took off from Auckland at 00:05 on January 1, 2018, and arrived in Honolulu at 10:16 on 31 December 2017.
This was because Auckland is 23 hours ahead of Honolulu, so the aircraft took off in 2018 and landed in 2017.
Due to the difference in time, Sydney was the first metropolis that welcomed in 2018 as the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and then Australia means each the start of the planetary marathon the celebrations for the New Year.
